1 in 4 women have been victims of some form of domestic violence. If it hasn't been you then you know someone who has...they just may not be telling anyone.

Domestic Violence is one of the most covered up injustices in society by BOTH the perpetrator AND the victim. Many times the victim of DV is convinced that they can change their partner, are stuck in a circle of fear and love, are scared to leave, are embarrassed or one of a myriad of other reasons that keeps them from talking about what is going on and the danger they are in at home.

If YOU are in a dangerous situation please call The National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233. The hotline helps both victims and survivors.

As the founder of snarky beauty co, I grew up in a domestic violence household and survived child sexual abuse. The cycle is real and terrifying. The lingering effects of these tragedies were significant. One of the things that you "learn" as a victim is to Be Silent. Well NO MORE!

I made a decision 8 years ago to speak up for myself regardless of who it was I had to speak up to. I no longer tolerate others treating me poorly nor do I sit silently in the presence of any injustice towards myself or others.

BUT it's not always easy to be your own hero. Some days we just don't feel as powerful and we need a reminder from a good friend, loved one or even a stranger, of what we are capable of. Sometimes we just need to take a moment and think about all of the things we have come through and accomplished so far.

Personally, I have always felt a little more badass-y when I had on that perfect scent or that amazing lip color. Little things like that can go a long way in giving you a boost. So, I created a selection of beauty items designed to look good, smell good AND remind you of your power. NEVER be afraid to tell it like is is.
